00:00It's time for the good cry of the day.

00:02It'll be like an everyday segment.

00:03Maybe we'll do good cry of the day.

00:05So this man up in Maine, he gets on this website.

00:09It's called the North Florida Rescue of Maine.

00:12They rescue dogs who are in Florida who need a home, and they rehome them in Maine.

00:17Okay.

00:18So this guy's name's Nick.

00:19He's on the website, and he's looking around.

00:22Be careful going on that rabbit hole, Nick.

00:24I know.

00:25Once you look at puppies, it's hard to not just adopt one.

00:28By the way, this guy, Nick, already has a seven-year-old yellow lab that he loves, and they're best friends, right?

00:32But he's on this website, and he sees a little black lab named Emerson.

00:37And Emerson's story is that Emerson is the only one of his litter that hasn't been rescued.

00:42He's the only one.

00:44Everybody else, his guys, his brothers and sisters are gone.

00:46Yeah.

00:47So Emerson's all alone, and they put up a little picture next to him.

00:49They said, I'm Emerson.

00:51All my brothers and sisters left.

00:52They found homes.

00:53I'm the only one left, and it's because I'm deaf.

00:55I can't hear.

00:56But I'd still love to be your friend, okay?

01:01So Nick goes to bed that night, and he's like, why am I keep thinking about Emerson?

01:05Why do I keep thinking about Emerson?

01:06He wakes up the next morning, and he asks his seven-year-old yellow lab, would you be cool if we got Emerson?

01:11He says the lab said, yeah.

01:13So it's cool.

01:13We'll go with that, right?

01:14He gets Emerson.

01:16He rescues Emerson.

01:17Emerson lives there.

01:18But here's the craziest part of the story, right?

01:20Emerson and his seven-year-old lab are now best friends, but Nick is teaching Emerson sign language, and he's picking it up.

01:28And I'm just going—

01:29Yeah, because, well, Nick, the guy who adopted the dog, is deaf.

01:32Right.

01:33So he adopted a deaf dog.

01:35I know.

01:36So they're teaching each other sign language.

01:39He says the dog is actually teaching him things that he didn't realize that the dogs could do.

01:44He's like, so we're learning from each other.

01:46So cute.

01:46It's just insane, and they're happy together.

01:50Nick's dog and Emerson are best friends.

01:52The dog now is learning sign language.

01:54Nick is learning things from the puppy.

01:56It's just crazy.

01:57It's all working out together.

01:58So there's your good cry of the day, and the entire litter has been rescued.

02:02Yay!

02:03And Emerson is happy, and he's learning sign language.

02:05Isn't it crazy that a dog who's deaf can wind up with a guy who's deaf, and now they're teaching each other?

02:11I mean, it's just the best.

02:13This is great.

02:14And the fact that people didn't want the dog because he was deaf, you know, people were like, oh, this is going to be too much work.

02:18It's too much work.

02:19Because I want to be able to call the dog, have it come over, and all of that.

02:21And this guy's like, listen, I've been living my whole life like this, and this dog deserves—
