00:00Hi there, I am Senior Digital Content Editor and America's Sweetheart, Erika Banas, and I'm here
00:13today to go over proper Getty and Shutterstock attribution. Now, why does this matter in the
00:19first place? Well, for starters, it's in our contract. We have to give these photos proper
00:25credit because that's the deal. Also, it's just nice to give people proper credit when
00:31they do work. We've all been there. We've all not received credit before. Let's just do it.
00:37It's just good karma, frankly. So, for Getty photos, I'll cite this U2 story. When you look
00:47up the photo, whether it's in the Getty widget or on the actual Getty site, you will see the
00:51image attribution. It's usually in a parentheses for this U2 photo. You'll see it at the end
00:59of the caption, as with all Getty images, really. So, what you need to do in order to properly
01:05do the attribution, you just need to copy the photographer and then Getty images. Go back
01:14to your tab here. There's your image. There's your feature photo. And I already have it in the
01:22attribution field. Photographer slash Getty images. It's going to be like that for any photo from the
01:29Getty images library. Pretty simple, pretty straightforward.
