00:00Victorian detectives seized millions in illegal goods during a coordinated week-long crackdown
00:05on the illicit tobacco trade. From 7th to 11th April, the Viper Task Force executed warrants
00:12at 12 Melbourne tobacco stores, allegedly linked two organised crime syndicates.
00:17The raids, supported by the ATO and TGA, uncovered more than 14,500 vapes, 681,000 cigarettes,
00:26305 kilograms of loose-leaf tobacco, over $22,500 in cash and several prohibited weapons.
00:34Fourteen people were arrested and are expected to be charged on summons for possessing tobacco
00:40and proceeds of crime. Authorities say they are ramping up efforts to disrupt syndicates funding
00:45further criminal activity through illicit tobacco. Police urged anyone with information about the
