00:00Talks between Iran and the US over Tehran's rapidly advancing nuclear program appeared ready on Monday to leave the Middle East for Rome.

00:09The confirmation comes after Italy's foreign minister separately told journalists that the Italian government has given its go-ahead to host the talks.

00:18The first talks ended in Oman, a location Iran has confirmed will not hold the next round of talks.

00:30On Sunday, US President Donald Trump said he expected to decide on Iran very quickly after both countries said they held positive and constructive talks.

00:52Saturday's talks were the first high-level dialogue between US and Iranian officials in eight years.

00:58US officials have said Oman will continue to mediate between the two sides.
