00:00so we received reports that three staff had been attacked at franklin separation center
00:07by a terrorist prisoner who was later identified as a baby it was an unprovoked attack and while he
00:15was cooking a meal for himself he threw boiling hot fat over them to subdue them and then proceeded
00:22to produce homemade knives and attack them by stabbing and slashing them so they were hospitalized
00:29i'm pleased to report that one was discharged with scald and burn injuries but i'm afraid the
00:34other two have got some serious injuries including slash wounds and stab wounds we need to look at the
00:40type of regime and the freedoms we allow prisoners in separation centers enjoy can we restrict them
00:48we will be involved in the review of this incident and the review of regimes in separation centers i
00:53think they've got too many freedoms allowing prisoners in a separation center access to
00:58cooking facilities with sharpened knives to chop food and with hot oil to cook meals is a risk to
01:06staff and now it's come to this we rarely need to clamp down and review how we treat these prisoners
