Protesters demand Mahmoud Khalil's release in Times Square rally

Protesters gathered in New York’s iconic Times Square on Saturday (April 12) to demand the release of Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, who is in detention in Louisiana following his arrest by immigration authorities in New York on March 8.   A US Immigration judge ruled on Friday (April 11) that Khalil can be deported, allowing President Donald Trump's administration to proceed with its effort to remove the Columbia University student from the United States. 00:48Judge Jamie Comins of the LaSalle Immigration Court in Louisiana ruled on Friday that Khalil

00:54can be deported. While not a final decision, it marked a key win for Trump's push to deport

00:59pro-Palestinian students without criminal records.
