Welcome to Our Living City: a project conceived on the streets of Music City, to give a voice to the unhoused through songwriting. To learn more about this project or get involved, please visit www.ourlivingcity.com

Our third episode features Nashville-based songwriters Stargurl and (OLC founder) James Tristan Redding, with a beautiful poetic soul named Lamont. Thank you, Lamont, for spending some time with us:

"Perfect Storm"

by Lamont, Stargurl, & James Tristan Redding

Coming into something in broken pieces
If only she was here we would all be together
Half of me is a missed connection
The other half is still waiting on a train

A perfect storm
The call that never comes
A house with no foundation

There are clouds that decorate my vision
Mountains with black waves and take me from here
I slipped through the cracks and came out blue
And now I thought I got a lot of time to think about it

A perfect storm
The call that never comes
A house with no foundation

And it all falls through
As it so often do
The worst the true
And I become brand new
Baby for you
