La tournée Rolling Thunder Revue que Bob Dylan a commencé en automne 1975 avec de nombreux invités : artistes et collaborateurs, ressemble à un mélange de réalité et de fantaisie, du point de vue d'aujourd'hui. L'idée était que Dylan, déjà populaire, joue dans des villes plus petites à travers l'Amérique et le Canada et entre en contact avec le public de là-bas.
