Angela Childs est une informaticienne qui ne quitte pas son appartement en raison d'une grave agoraphobie et utilise un assistant virtuel nommé Kimi. Un jour, alors qu'elle traite des données pour son travail, elle reçoit un enregistrement terrifiant ; une femme y appelle à l'aide et se fait assassiner. Lorsqu'elle essaye d'alerter son entreprise puis les autorités, Angela se retrouve face à un mur. Sa seule solution reste de chercher de l'aide à l'extérieur et d'affronter sa peur de la foule...
