Putra Heights inferno: Selangor education department to help affected students continue schooling

Only about 20% of students affected by the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire and housed at the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) attended school on Monday (April 7), said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.  He said the state education department will deploy officers and support teams to the PPS to ensure the affected students can continue their education despite the disruption.  Amirudin also announced that Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) will provide RM500 in assistance to each of the affected students. 00:12The Ministry of Education will send officers and those involved

00:23to continue the learning session in the event of a disaster.

00:27In the beginning, they will be helped a little bit,

00:31in terms of level, class, and what needs to be helped.

00:34So, even if they don't go to school,

00:37we will also see the entire 265 students

00:41that we have identified as victims or involved in some of the affected victims.

00:48So, we will continue and hope that in the near future,

00:54they will return to school and be able to continue their learning session.

01:00To that end, on Thursday, the Ministry of Education will donate RM500
