00:00So clearly we'd rather not be in this place and we were disappointed by the imposition of global
00:06tariffs by the US because any sort of escalating trade war where tariffs are constantly ratcheted
00:13up is bad for global demand, it's bad for prices and ultimately it's bad for British consumers and
00:20so that's why the Prime Minister in this government is going to do absolutely everything in its power
00:25to shelter British businesses and British consumers from those difficult and challenging
00:31global economic headwinds. So we are restoring certainty for British car manufacturers in saying
00:37that the 2030 phase out date for petrol and diesel new cars is staying, it's happening,
00:44we're also explaining that full hybrids cars like the Toyota Prius or the Nissan e-power will still
00:51be able to be sold through until 2035 alongside plug-in hybrids, we're reducing some of the fines
00:58that the car manufacturers might need to pay.
