00:16users who continue to pay high prices for drugs. Malaysia remains a key transit point

00:22for serious organised crime networks to exploit and transport illicit drugs, in particular

00:28methamphetamine, to Australia. Authorities tracked the 166 drum consignment from Iran

00:34for three months under Operation Tiger Malang. Believed to contain methamphetamine, the shipment

00:39was substituted and allowed to proceed until it arrived in Australia, where officers swooped.

00:46The seizure formed part of a larger crackdown on international drug trafficking networks.

00:51The AFP operates in 34 countries and has ramped up cooperation with Southeast Asian law enforcement

00:57to stop meth from reaching Aussie shores. Malaysia remains a critical transit point,

01:03with more than one tonne of meth linked to the country seized in the last financial year.

01:08A newly formed joint unit, Task Force Tiger,

01:10has already disrupted over a tonne of meth imports since November 2024.
