00:00With the upcoming midterm elections fast approaching, the number of violators of the election gun ban continues to rise.

00:07The Philippine National Police, or PNP, said that more than 2,000 individuals have been arrested at various checkpoints nationwide.

00:15A significant portion of these arrests were made through police operations, while more than 2,000 firearms of various caliber were seized.

00:23The PNP has mandated personnel from the Highway Patrol Group, or HPG, to conduct more checkpoints across the country

00:31and stressed that inspections should not be limited to motorcycles, but must also include four-wheel vehicles passing through these checkpoints.
