The massive fire in Putra Heights on Tuesday left many residents living in the affected
00:07
area in shock.
00:08
It's a surreal experience, you know, it's still Raya and my mum was supposed to go to
00:14
Perak today.
00:15
Now it got delayed because of the fire.
00:16
I think around 8am I got woken up by my mum to, you know, some explosion because I woke
00:25
up and then I opened the door, everyone was running out and, you know, in panic I had
00:31
to get my mum out first.
00:32
And then I actually left this cat.
00:35
But then I had the opportunity to come back thanks to the fire force and now I'm waiting
00:41
for my brother-in-law to pick me up.
00:42
Actually I was from the grave and then my brother, I was on the way back home and then
00:48
my brother called me.
00:49
He said that the house was on fire.
00:50
So I was like, I went straight home and saw that it was really bad.
00:51
From the highway I could see the flames.
01:00
The fire which broke out at 8.10am at Jalan Putra Harmony involved a leak in a gas pipeline,
01:06
approximately 500 metres long.
01:10
Victims suffering from minor injuries were taken to the Sri Maha Kalyaman Temple in Subang
01:14
Jaya to receive treatment from health ministry personnel.
01:18
The Fire and Rescue Department reported that six people have been hospitalised at Cyber
01:23
Jaya and Serdang hospitals for treatment.
01:26
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Sri Amiruddin Shari announced that the Selangor
01:31
Disaster Unit had opened a temporary evacuation centre and is working with the Fire and Rescue
01:37
Department to assist the victims.
01:40
Amiruddin said the State Health Department is on standby to transport the victims to
01:45
nearby hospitals for treatment.
01:47
Firefighters are still battling the fire due to lingering gas remnant.
