Speedway: Anders Rowe explains his hopes for new season at Sheffield

00:00Anders, how does it feel to be joining Sheffield?

00:03Yeah, it's really good, it's a nice atmosphere and

00:06yeah, it's good to have a change.

00:10Do you think it's a fairly decent team this

00:13season? Yeah, definitely. I think it's an awesome team.

00:17We're pretty solid all the way through, so yeah, it'll be a really interesting year.

00:21Have you ridden with many of the riders here before?

00:24Yeah, I've raced against all the boys and I think I've ridden

00:27in a couple of teams with a couple of the riders in the past.

00:31So yeah, we know each other quite well, so it should be pretty good.

00:36And last season you were racing as Rising Star at Kingsland.

00:40How does it feel to be back in the main body of a team again?

00:43Yeah, really good. It's nice to step out the Rising Star scheme now.

00:48My average was too high to go back into it for this season,

00:51but I'm happy that I've stepped out of it.

00:53It shows that I'm improving, not just to myself,

00:57but also to other people. It shows that I'm improving.

00:59So yeah, it's really good for me and I'm looking forward to a new challenge.

01:03Does it make it more difficult being higher up on the order?

01:07Not really. You've got to race from one to seven.

01:11You've got to race every person.

01:12It doesn't matter what number that you're at or they're at.

01:16Throughout the meeting, you'll race everyone anyway.

01:18So it doesn't really make no difference to me.

01:21All it makes a difference is I get inside gates and hit one.

01:26There's been a lot of talk about how well you did when you came to Owlerton last season.

01:29Is this a track that you like?

01:30Yeah, definitely. It's one of my favourite tracks and I've always liked coming here.

01:34I've not really raced too, too many times here,

01:36but every time I've come here, I've always just took it in my stride

01:41and just raced my bike and had fun and just made the bike simple

01:45and got out of them starts and held on tight.

01:50What is it about this track that suits you, do you think?

01:52I think because it's quite big and open.

01:55It's a racer's track, but it's also a gator's track as well.

01:59I'm quite a good gator, so if you can get out them starts fast

02:04and get out in front early and hit fresh air,

02:07you can get a good gap between you.

02:10But also, if you miss the start, you can still win a race.

02:13So that's what I really like about it.

02:16What's your target for this season?

02:17Ah, that's for me to know?

02:21No, just for me, I'm going to improve again on last year.

02:26The last two seasons, I've had really good.

02:29For me, just carry on doing what I was doing from last year.

02:33Having fun, racing my bike, putting points on the table,

02:36winning races, winning meetings with the team

02:39and get us into them semifinals and then the finals,

02:43and then we go from there.
