00:00Poole's completed the signing of young goalkeeper Daryl Ombang on loan from Leeds until the end of
00:04the season. Obviously they've been up for a bit of goalkeeper cover since Owen Foster's loan from
00:09Hull expired earlier this, sorry I think it was last week wasn't it, so yeah the Leeds teenager
00:14arrives on a short-term loan until the end of the season which as we know has got about four or five
00:20weeks left to go. I would imagine Robbie that he's unlikely to see any first-team action at the club
00:26but a position that Poole's needed to fill anyway with a bit of cover on the back of Foster's exit.
00:35Yeah exactly that Rich. I think young goalkeeper Harry Conyard obviously was on the bench
00:41at the weekend only 18 years old and has no experience of senior football so I think it
00:46would be a lot to ask of him were anything to happen to Adam Smith. Smith has obviously had
00:53a slightly difficult few weeks, made a handful of mistakes lately but has generally been pretty
00:59good since being restored to the side and is certainly a safe pair of hands experience.
01:04Goalkeeper obviously commands his area really well which I think is something that Poole's
01:08have been lacking a bit over the last couple of seasons and kicks really well as well. Another
01:13thing they've probably been lacking so I think Poole's will be more than happy to stick with
01:17Smith. He's obviously one of a few players already contracted for next season as well and a great
01:22character around the dressing room as well, a really good man so I think that that's significant
01:26but they probably did need a backup goalkeeper. Obviously had Owen Foster for a month. It's a
01:31really difficult balancing act isn't it because these young goalkeepers obviously they're looking
01:35to gain experience perhaps of just going into a different dressing room. That's significant when
01:41you're a young man as well but obviously they do want to play as well. Owen Foster hasn't yet
01:46made a senior appearance for Hull as the season comes to an end. He's probably thinking
01:52about what his future might have in store so I suppose it makes sense that he maybe wants
01:57to go somewhere else where he thinks he has a better chance of breaking into the side. He's
02:01just signed for Torquay who are obviously involved in that really closely contested
02:05National League South title race. They do also have a very well established number one goalkeeper
02:10though so it's going to be interesting but makes sense for Poole to bring someone else in just as
02:14a bit of cover and competition. Obviously another young goalkeeper capped by England at under 17
02:21level. A little bit of senior experience as well through loan spells at Offset United
02:25and Farsley Celtics. So definitely a sensible move and probably a win-win for everyone.
