Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced the federal election will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

00:00This morning I visited the Governor-General and Her Excellency has accepted my advice

00:05that an election be held on Saturday 3 May 2025.

00:12Over the last few years the world has thrown a lot at Australia.

00:16In uncertain times we cannot decide the challenges that we will face,

00:24Our Government has chosen to face global challenges the Australian way.

00:30Helping people under cost of living pressure while building for the future.

00:37Because of the strength and resilience that our people have shown,

00:42Australia is turning the corner.

00:45Now on the 3 May you choose the way forward.

00:51Your vote has never been more important and your choice has never been more clear.

00:57This election is a choice between Labor's plan to keep building

01:04or Peter Dutton's promise to cut.
