The Downside Of India’s Vaping Ban

Some Indians are deeply upset about the ban on sale of e-cigarettes. This young content writer thinks it’s simply unfair.

00:22The ban has scared me very honestly. The government has created criminals

00:27overnight and we are just law-abiding citizens. We are like burning down the

00:34forest to extinguish a tiny amount of fire you know.

00:57Say like it's not the safest but you have to understand vaping is a

01:11cessation product. It is not advertised to children. It is not designed for new

01:18people. There is no reason for you to pick up a vape if you do not smoke. Ever

01:22since I picked it up I've never looked back to tobacco again. I find the smell

01:26repulsive. I find being existent around smokers repulsive. The quality of life

01:31improves because your stamina improves. You're running faster. Your lips don't

01:36get darkened. You don't smell like an ashtray. You breathe easier. Your skin

01:41is much clearer. I know dozens of individuals who have quit smoking

01:46because of vaping. Individuals who've been smoking for 20-30 years. Imagine a

01:52habit that you've been doing non-stop for 30 years and now suddenly there's a

01:58product which has helped change that habit literally overnight.

02:23They expect us to run out of our stocks and just quit cold turkey. Now the simple

02:41fact is if quitting nicotine addiction was that easy, millions and millions of

02:47smokers across the world won't exist. Moderation, regulation is the key.

02:52Complete bans will just encourage more kids to reach out and see this illegal

02:59product. Make sure individuals selling it are aware that this is not a

03:04product that is completely safe. Nobody claims it to be. This is for smokers and

03:09smokers only to help make the switch. Not for a non-consumer of nicotine to

03:15suddenly start doing it because it looks cool.
