00:00The Department of Agriculture has announced that it will build mega food hubs for the next three years.

00:06This can reduce the supply and price of agricultural products.

00:12Vell Custodio of PTV has news for the country.

00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with the Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tullo-Ruel Jr.

00:25to discuss some projects for the next three years.

00:29The first target is the construction of mega food hubs.

00:59The concept was based on the idea of the Department of Agriculture during their visit to Thailand last month.

01:04There are a lot of volumes of vegetables, meat, and everything agricultural produce that are traded every day.

01:13There are cold storages and all support infrastructure.

01:21This can help reduce the supply and price of agricultural products

01:28and prevent incidents like the throwing of tomatoes.

01:32The budget for this is estimated to be P3.75 billion, which is possible to start next year.

01:39Some of the projects are the Five Irrigation Network System, Water Waste,

01:44White Revolution or the construction of greenhouses, and Massive Planting for Coconut.

01:49These projects are in line with the President's vision for food security.

01:54Meanwhile, the DA is also targeting the increase in egg prices in the market.

01:59This is followed by a decrease in egg supply due to some diseases that affect chickens,

02:04including Inclusion Body Hepatitis or IBH and Infectious Laryngotracheitis or ILT.

02:10According to the DA, egg production did not reach 90% from poultry farms in Central Luzon and Southern Tagalog.

02:18However, the DA assured that this is a common disease of chickens and it is easy to control because there are available medicines for it.
