00:00In other news, at least 24 people have died due to the South Korea's worst ever wildfire

00:05outbreak.

00:06The Ministry of Interior and Safety officials confirmed the death of 24 people, and 12 others

00:11were seriously injured.

00:13Most of them are local residents, while there were also three firefighters and a pilot in

00:18a firefighting helicopter that died due to aircraft crash in the mountain area.

00:23Over the weekend, the fire broke out, forcing around 27,000 individuals to evacuate immediately.

00:28Moreover, the wildfires have destroyed over 17,000 hectares, with 87 percent of the total

00:35area blazed in Yuseong town alone.

00:37This, according to the authorities, the wildfire was due to the changing of wind patterns and

00:42dry weather.

00:43As of now, the government has raised the crisis alert to the highest level, and the inmates

00:48affected will be transferred in the other areas.
