00:00The Chang'e 7 mission, launching in 2026, is another unmanned robotic research spacecraft.
00:09It's planned to land on the illuminated rim of the Shackleton crater, almost at the moon's
00:13south pole.
00:16That's further than any lander has been before.
00:19It aims to look for water ice and other resources.
00:23So that's a surveyor mission that's looking at the region where you want to set up the
00:27base.
00:28It has a lander, a rover, just move around on the surface and it also has like a drone
00:33that flies over the craters so you can look down to see whether it's actually ice.
00:38So looking for water is the most important thing that Chang'e 7 would do.
00:43It will contain sort of a proton detector and spectrometer, those are both looking for
00:50water.
00:51If the mission confirms water ice is present, it opens the door to China building the International
00:57Lunar Research Station.
