00:24It feels a lot smaller once you're there because you constantly are running into people.

00:40My first book that I read when I was little was Madeline, and I grew up,
00:45I was in ballet class, and France was so ingrained in different parts of my life.

00:53I was like, oh my gosh, this is literally Paris, and it's literally what I was told it was.

01:04cultural outlets within the city that that can seem as though it would be spread out,
01:09but it all really is quite close together and interconnected.

01:49we either nap or need to memorize lines or need to take a second to breathe.
01:53In the TV and film world, French hours is something that's a term that's used globally,
01:57you know, and I think, honestly, like, I love French hours and it has nothing to do with,
02:02oh, like, filming less and getting off early and any of those things.
02:05I think that they just really understand that when people are well-rested,
02:08when people get a good break and sustenance,
02:10they're able to do work much faster and better afterwards.
02:13Like, you can't just keep going and going and going without a break.
02:16You need to respect the fact that people are humans and need to take a second and
02:21they have an hour-long lunch break so they can do, like, what Ashley said,
02:24which is just, like, reboot the system, eat,
02:27feel like they've had some private time to then come back and work hard.
02:33There's something about the experience of eating.
02:35In other cities, sometimes I'm like, okay, great, I have five minutes for a sandwich,
02:38I'm going to grab it here and I'm going to go over here.
02:40And really, like, Paris, they really respect the dining experience.
02:45I don't think it needs to be gourmet food,
02:46but it's more about, like, the quality of time spent with the person.
02:49You're not going to just grab them for a quick, like, five-minute cappuccino.
02:53Like, you're going to sit down for an hour and talk and respect that time.
