00:40This has been quite a ride.

00:43It was eight and a half years ago that I chose Joe to be my Vice President.

00:48There has not been a single moment since that time that I have doubted the wisdom of that decision.

00:55The best possible choice, not just for me, but for the American people.

01:00This is an extraordinary man with an extraordinary career in public service.

01:13I had no inkling.

01:15I thought we were coming over, Michelle, for you, Jill, and Brock and I, a couple of senior staff,

01:24to toast one another and say what an incredible journey it's been.

01:32Mr. President, this honor is not only well beyond what I deserve,

01:51but it's a reflection of the extent and generosity of your spirit.

02:02I don't deserve this, but I know it came from the President's heart.

02:14There's a Talmudic saying that says, what comes from the heart enters the heart.

02:22Mr. President, you have creeped into our heart, you and your whole family, including Mom, and you occupy it.

02:32It's an amazing thing that happened.

02:37I knew how smart you were.

02:39I knew how honorable you were.

02:41I knew how decent you were from the couple years we worked in the Senate.

02:45And I knew what you were capable of.

02:48But I never fully expected that you'd occupy the Biden's heart from Hunter, Ashley, my sister, all of us.
