00:00I'm reminded every day how important music is to me, you know people say it's just music

00:05and you're like no, nothing else speaks to me the way music does, that's why I'm doing what I'm doing, you know.

00:10It's the only thing where I'm truly comfortable is writing music and singing, you know.

00:40With music there, and jazz in particular, there is a warmth and a personableness, it's not a word,

00:57there's a warmth and a real, I can't explain it but it just gets you very direct.

01:10Amy was about laughter really, I mean even in her darkest days when she was sick,

01:39that's what got us through, our sense of humour.

02:26I can't even believe that I've been nominated, it doesn't feel like me, I feel like it's my cousin called Amy,

03:13I wrote Rehab in about 20 minutes and it was just, I wrote it about something that had happened to me,

03:30it was just, it wrote itself.

03:55I've written quite a few songs for this ex-boyfriend but that's just because I was writing the album at the time,

04:01and it just so happens that all the singles are heartbreak.

04:04If you wanted a real emotional connection with my music, it's there, if you want to put it on in the background, cool,

04:26but my music is really intense.

04:47As a married woman, what can we expect from you songwriting-wise?

05:10What can it be for a young woman of 24 who really can't leave her house without the fear of being hounded?

05:17It's very, very difficult and I can't imagine what it's like for her.

05:47I don't see her as this massive celebrity,

06:14she was just a girl up the road that taught me so much since the age of eight.

06:17Her music just resonates to so many different people and it brings us all together, doesn't it?

06:44Bringing music forward and making it feel like part of your life,

06:57making it feel like everyone's life and everyone can relate to it.
