00:00Guys, this is Taba Tamaral, Activist for Education, elected Federal Deputy.
00:11It is a great responsibility to be elected at 25 years old, but it is also a great opportunity.
00:23Let's spread and remind everyone that in Brazil teachers are very little valued.
00:28But if we don't revert this scenario, we will never have a quality public education.
00:33I come from the outskirts of São Paulo, and I came here because a teacher at the Mathematics Olympics believed that I could also study.
01:03I was able to come to Harvard in the United States with a scholarship and study Political Science and Astrophysics, something my parents had never heard of.
01:33I became an activist not because it seemed interesting. I was made an activist because I saw the importance of education, but I also saw the lack it makes, especially in the outskirts.
02:03In the face of widespread indignation, we must trust our ability to organize ourselves and choose the future we want.
02:28Why not renew Taba Tamaral for the Federal Deputy?
02:32It is a very special moment, the first day of my first candidacy.
02:47I ask you to understand that without education we will not have the country we want, inclusive, developed and ethical.
02:54So I ask you, knowing that I am young and young enriches and questions, and I represent this well, but I ask you to please enter this fight seriously.
