00:00I want to work towards a world where all the women, including the most vulnerable women,
00:15will be able to have access to a safe abortion when they need it.
00:25I'm not based in the US, I'm based in Europe.
00:29And so my medical practice, what I'm doing, is following under the regulations and the
00:35laws of the country where I'm based.
00:49So one of the women that wrote to me, she lived in her car with her two kids because
00:54she was ousted out of her house.
00:56She was the house foreclosure.
00:58And so she had no place to live.
01:00She had nothing.
01:01She couldn't even feed her kids.
01:03So these are the stories that are driving me.
01:26Many women are dying unnecessarily because they take desperate measures to end their
01:33pregnancies.
01:34It doesn't stop any abortion from happening.
01:37The only thing that restricting abortion does is make it dangerous for women to have one.
01:51And I mean, I never had ever had a letter like this.
01:54So it was kind of a, what's this, what should I do with this?
01:59After the letter of the FDA, members of Congress sent a letter to the FDA to applaud them on
02:05their action.
02:08Not 108 were white, middle-aged male men.
02:12I don't know what the concern is, because aid access is an harm reduction strategy.
02:19There's also trans women and non-binary that are the most vulnerable, which is a lot of
02:26people living in poverty, suffering from domestic violence and, you know, other situations that
02:35people are in.
02:36What happens is it's breaking the taboo around abortion.
02:50It's creating awareness.
02:52It shows that it's an international human rights issue.
03:02So how it works is that women do an online consultation.
03:06Women that cannot afford to pay, I will give them a sliding scale.
03:10And if they cannot pay anything, I will try to help them still.
03:14They will forward that prescription to a pharmacy in India, and the pharmacy in India will send
03:19them the medicines.
03:2025% of the women that reached out to me, they cannot even afford to pay 80 euros, which
03:26means that, you know, an abortion for $700 would be totally, is totally out of their reach.
03:41As long as I can do it, I will not turn any women away.
