This traditional Indian sport has been around since the 12th century... and it's only now beginning to have a presence in the U.S.

00:27Mallakhamb is a competitive sport and it is a combination of gymnastics, yoga and martial

00:41There are girls and boys of certain age groups.
00:44They compete against each other within a specified time frame and they are being judged upon
00:51their execution and difficulty levels.
01:12Today on the rope we are going to learn back plank, first I will show you the skill and
01:18then I will show you the progression.
01:48Mallakhamb's popularity is spreading quite with a speed.
02:09We have recently received calls from Boston and few other states asking for the sport.
02:17We are located in New Jersey, Edison area, we can say our head office of federation is
02:22in Edison but we also have few other branches in multiple states.
02:37Poland, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Germany and many other countries we are already in
02:55touch with them.

03:22With the second world championship, India team is definitely, they are really competitive,
03:29they are practicing every day but case in US is little different.
03:35We all have our day jobs and we just conduct practice during weekends, we are doing this

03:43So we don't have that much time but we have a dream that we can definitely want to beat
03:50our Indian team in second world championship.
