As temperatures fall, there are still thousands of homeless people living on the streets. Here's how people in the U.S., France, and Hungary are helping.

00:00When I was three years old, I was vacationing in Austin with my parents and a person asked us for money.

00:11I didn't understand it, so I asked my parents.

00:15They tried to explain it the best they could to me.

00:19And then a few days later, I brought it up and said, we need to help.

00:30Jake is very engaged in Jake's Heart.

00:43As I said, he's the founder of Jake's Heart.

00:45He actually helps put together the assembly lines for the supplies that gets put into the care packages for the homeless.

00:55He also is very engaging with the homeless individuals wherever we are.

01:00It's not just like he takes the packages and takes it to a shelter and drops it off and feels good about it.

01:14I help the homeless because it makes me feel happy and it makes me feel good.

01:21And it makes my day.

01:24I see the future.

01:33Houses for every single homeless person and then also jobs for them.

01:55We were really shocked by the number of people on the street.

01:57And I think that when you come from the province, you're not used to meeting so many people on the street.

02:03And it's mostly the general indifference of all the people who pass by the homeless people

02:07that shocked all the members of the association who wanted to get involved.

02:13I look up, I say hello and I really look at these people and I think they are really surprised.

02:45A blanket for winter allows you to think a little bit about certain words,

02:49but it doesn't solve all the misery that exists in France and elsewhere.

02:57We wanted to do something useful, so this whole thing was born as a completely spontaneous idea.

03:05We went out to Kötön, and after we did this first little action,

03:12we made 150 sandwiches, we packed everything that would be useful for the homeless people on the street,

03:17what they might need, the Bike Mafia was born.
