00:00I just emailed them and were like, hey, there are a lot of more sustainable options and
00:12that could be a lot more eco-friendly.
00:16And then they're like, we never thought of that because it's something so small.
00:30You might not personally be seeing it, but somewhere in the world, someone's being directly
00:40affected by it.
00:52Growing up in California, I was surrounded by so much beauty.
00:56It's like a no brainer why I'd want to protect it.
00:58Being a polluted ocean breaks my heart.
01:01I just want people to understand by having the mentality where it's like, well, I'm not
01:05making an impact.
01:06I'm only using one straw.
01:07Well, just imagine if everyone else had that mentality.
01:11We would get nowhere.
01:12There's just so many different, amazing alternatives that not a lot of people know about.
01:18I suggest using paper straws, bamboo straws, metal straws, and just overall any alternative
01:26to single-use plastic.
01:34All the plastic that is on our ground, on our earth, that has the possibility of making
01:40it to the ocean.
01:41And then from that, then it ends up breaking down into smaller pieces of plastic, which
01:46are more detrimental.
01:47There's this whole cycle that hurts the planet's health and then in turn hurts our health.
01:56Our planet, it's our future.
02:03My ultimate goal for Junior Ocean Guardians is to not only create something bigger than
02:08myself but also leave the planet in a better shape in which I entered.
02:14So I want to have everyone else aware of the issues that our planet's facing and then hopefully
02:21have everyone come together as a united front to help save it.
