Donald J. Trump said he wants to represent the people of Pittsburgh... But the Mayor of the city strongly disagrees.
Transcript
00:00I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.
00:11I was outraged that the president would use the city of Pittsburgh as the comparison.
00:21What we're doing is we're showing that Pittsburgh is the example.
00:25We were that city that China is like today, where the smoke filled the air so much that the streetlights would stay on 24 hours.
00:35We were that city that created the first Clean Air Act in American history, decades before there was an EPA.
00:43And during the 1980s and the 1990s, when we finally said our future economy may not be based upon big manufacturing,
00:52we were able to turn the corner and build a new economy.
00:56Pittsburgh is the poster child of showing why the Paris Agreement is good economics for the United States.
01:05And what we did today sets us back decades.
