00:05So, yes, it has been a very, very sh***y year.

00:14Me falling in love.

00:16I have the best girl in the world.

00:18And we met at a time before COVID,

00:22but we were friends then.

00:23And now, during COVID, it kind of brought us closer together.

00:27This is the best thing that happened to me this year.

00:29I found love.

00:34I started a hot sauce company with my roommate.

00:44I've learned to love myself a little bit more

00:46and get to know myself

00:47and be able to face my own challenges in my life

00:49that have been slowing me down mentally.

00:51It really allows you to stay home with your family,

00:56really learn about the small things

00:58and appreciate the small things in life,

01:00really get you back to cooking

01:02and really get you back to folding laundry.

01:07Because of the pressure of COVID and quarantine,

01:10I no longer am in a bad relationship.

01:13I drove and went to stay with my parents

01:15for about a month and a half.

01:17And it was pretty much the longest I've spent with them

01:21since I went off to university.

01:23A lot of bonding, a lot of music, a lot of dancing.

01:27And it was really great to just have that time with them.

01:29So the best thing that happened to me in 2020

01:32was to meet my all-time favorite sumo wrestler, Hakuho.

01:37Reconnecting with my little sister

01:39and meeting the future mother of my children.

01:41Remote working has been one of the best things for me

01:43because it means I can come back to Uganda,

01:45which is where I was born,

01:46and I can spend good quality time

01:49in positive environments with the people that I love.

01:53I'm going to turn this around and show you my niece,

01:55who is absolutely fantastic.

01:57I have a lot to be thankful for this year.

02:00I landed my dream job in a hospital, helping people.

02:03It kind of woke me up to how I live my life,

02:07so fast and busy.

02:10And we all had to slow down, and it was really nice.

02:13It's enabled me to really focus on my studies in climate change.

02:17And I feel like I was able to take

02:19certain volunteering opportunities

02:21that I wouldn't have had the time to do

02:23had I had a social life.

02:39One of the best things that happened this year

02:40was reconnecting with my mom and sisters over yoga.

02:43We started doing daily Zoom yoga sessions,

02:46and it was a really lovely time.

02:48Spent a lot of time with my family.

02:50And my best friends here in Brussels.

02:53The best thing to happen to me in 2020

02:55was also coincidentally the hardest,

02:57which was to move to a new country

03:00for a new job in the middle of the pandemic.

03:03I think the most important thing that I learned in 2020

03:07was to not take anything for granted.
