00:30Basically, vegan leather is anything that does not come from an animal source.
00:42We've sold wallets and handbags that have used close to 3,000 square feet of cork in
00:52total.
00:53Okay, so to put that in perspective, if you use the same amount of leather, it is equivalent
00:58to the leather from 63 plus cows or buffaloes or 350 plus pigs or 465 plus goats or sheep.
01:17So cork basically is the raw product of the cork oak trees that grow in the Mediterranean.
01:24The most common thing we know is that they punch it out and make wine stoppers out of
01:28it.
01:29Cork is biodegradable and even the fabric, even in the fabric form that we use it, it's
01:34at least like 85% biodegradable.
01:35I know that at least in approximately from one cow height, you get 18 pairs.
01:55So now we can do the math, like we must have saved a few cows.
02:02I had given up leather, so I personally struggled to find non-leather shoes that were also fashionable,
02:08that were also affordable.
02:09I would go to a mall and not see any Indian brand, you know, as a store.
02:13So I was like, okay, there is a gap here.
02:16Actually, we are very, very conscious, you know, about not just being animal friendly
02:24and slowly we want to become an eco-friendly and organic brand.
02:28So even with our packaging, we literally use no plastic.
02:33Every single material that goes into the product, I try to make it as sustainable as possible.
02:38So we even use organic cotton linings.
02:42Packaging is made from handmade paper, which is made from recycled cotton rags.
02:48Even our cardboard boxes in which we ship are made from recycled material.
02:57So I think that's the first step, like educating people, getting people to be a little more
03:02conscious because I think just a little bit in each and every person will go a huge way.
