00:00The first thing we're going to do is present you with a resolution from the City Council
00:06of Los Angeles, courtesy of a council member, Hugo Soto-Martinez, who represents this district.
00:13So let's do that now.
00:43On behalf of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, it gives me great pleasure to declare today
00:48Tricia Yearwood Day in Hollywood!
01:00The mic is yours.
01:03Hi.
01:05Thank you to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, to Variety.
01:10I'm overwhelmed, and there's not going to be playoff music, so I think I have three
01:15minutes, but I don't really care how long I have.
01:20It's one of those surreal moments.
01:22My team, Team TY who are all here, who I love, we all talk about being where your feet are,
01:28and I'm trying to be where my feet are, but it's very surreal to be here.
01:32Such an honor.
01:33And the thing that makes it so special are the people who are here.
01:36I see a lot of faces in the crowd who have been coming to see me live since 1991, and
01:43I love you, and you know that, because this is all I ever wanted to do was to sing, and
01:48Carly, your words were so kind.
01:51I want to tell you that when I met you for the first time, it was at a CMT award show,
01:57and I just immediately knew you were genuine, and I just knew I wanted to be your friend,
02:01and so it's been my honor to get to know you a little bit.
02:04And the person that taught me how to do that was the person, the first artist that was
02:10so kind to me at an award show, and that was Reba McEntire, who just exemplifies friendship
02:16and class.
02:19She sent me flowers at my first award show when nobody even knew I was in the dressing
02:22room, and I thought they were from my mom and dad, and then I saw they were from Reba,
02:26and I'm like, oh, okay.
02:28And I'm so, so blessed that you and I have become more than just colleagues that get
02:35to see each other, but friends that get to hang out, because you're right.
02:38There's a misconception that female artists in particular are always climbing at each
02:45other and trying to get at each other, but the truth is, we're all cheering for each
02:49other and with each other, and we just, this is an example of that.
02:53These girls from every generation of country music, we're all for each other.
02:57And speaking of cheerleaders, I want to acknowledge my team, Team TY, who is here.
03:03We are a team.
03:04I love you so much.
03:09My family, my sister Beth, who is the crier, more than my husband, actually, cries more
03:14than my husband, and her husband John, who are here representing our parents, who I know
03:21are here in this moment, and just loving every second, especially my mom.
03:25She's loving a star on the Hollywood Boulevard.
03:29I have a lot of Garths in my life.
03:31My producer, long-time producer, Garth Fundas, is the man who brought me She's in Love with
03:36a Boy.
03:37He brought me The Song Remembers When.
03:38He brought me Walk Away Joe.
03:41He's not here today, but I want to acknowledge and thank him for helping me make my dreams
03:46come true.
03:48And the first Garth that I met is here, and the one that has really been a cheerleader
03:59and who, as many accolades and awards as he has won, I've never seen him get more excited
04:06than he does when I receive something.
04:09And for all the people that want this for me, nobody wants it more than you, and I just
04:15appreciate you for being my support.
04:23We're down a few stars from each other, but we're going to figure out something.
04:28We'll put some breadcrumbs or something.
04:31That's really it.
04:32I mean, and to be in Capitol, I made a record here, actually, a few years ago.
04:35I did an album called Let's Be Frank, and I got to sing in this very room.
04:41And so I'm overwhelmed, honestly, and I'm sure later I'll think of some things I should
04:45have said, but I just want to thank you all for taking out your time on this gorgeous
04:49day to be here for this star.
04:51And I'm ready to unveil this thing, so I'm just going to say thank you.
