Pothole Nightmare: A442 from Telford to Bridgnorth

00:00Well, I come to work along the A442 every day and you see cars weaving in and out,

00:08sometimes quite violently. If they see the pothole at the last moment,

00:11then you see them suddenly swerve. So it can be sort of amusing, a bit scary.

00:16But also recently we had a wedding couple came for a meeting with us and they left

00:24and about 20 minutes later they gave us a call and they'd punctured one of their tyres

00:30between here and the Shell garage, which is about a mile down the road.

00:33So we had to help them out and this weekend in the bus stop here,

00:38there was a car with a shattered tyre once again.

00:41And I've actually lost two tyres on my car to potholes.

00:46It's when you don't see them at night and they're very deep, they just swallow the whole wheel.

00:51So you do see them filling them in, but they don't seem to make a very good job of it

00:55because the water immediately gets underneath the new tyre and then the frost just lifts it.

01:01So they fill them in, but maybe they should look at who's filling them in

01:04and how good a job they're doing and speed up the fill-in process.

01:08I ride a motorbike. If I was to hit one on my motorbike, I would definitely be off the bike.

01:13We never used to have this problem at all and you'd especially notice it on a motorbike,

01:17but it's been pretty bad for a while.

01:19But I think it's getting worse and worse. It seems more extreme all the time.

01:24Just resurfaced a lot. I mean, it's a very well-used road, so it's getting a good beating.
