00:00An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed and seven others were injured in a crash at kilometre

00:07221 southbound of the West Coast Expressway near Manjung around 1 a.m. on Saturday.

00:14Manjung OCPD ACP Hasbullah Abdul Rahman said the victim, part of a 10-motorcycle convoy,

00:20is believed to have lost control and crashed into the back of a slow-moving trailer on

00:25the emergency lane.

00:27The impact caused both the rider and his motorcycle to fall.

00:31Nine other motorcyclists aged 18 to 23 were unable to stop in time and collided with the

00:37fallen rider and vehicle.

00:39The injured are being treated at Seri Manjung Hospital with some suffering broken bones.

00:44The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act

00:491987.

00:51ACP Hasbullah said the trailer driver has yet to file a report.
