00:00Six months ago, this orphanage in South Africa looked like this.
00:06And despite having saved more than 5,000 children's lives over time, it was about to get shut
00:11down.
00:12When hearing about this, we made it our mission to ensure this doesn't happen by rebuilding
00:1612 new homes with an ongoing supply of fresh food as well as a brand new playground.
00:22This is Mama Rosie, who started the Bupuma Lele Orphanage 30 years ago after a baby was
00:27abandoned on her doorstep.
00:28Mama Rosie is an absolutely incredible person, but as hard as she's fought, as much as she's
00:34given, these kids were about to lose the only family, the only place they've ever known as
00:39home.
00:40To ensure this does not happen, we spent the last six months working tirelessly so that these
00:45kids have a safe and clean environment to live in.
00:56We also made sure that Mama Rosie had seen none of the renovations before surprising her.
01:05This is going to be awesome.
01:06Mama Rosie, you promised me you haven't seen anything yet?
01:09Yes.
01:10I haven't seen anything.
01:12Are you ready?
01:13Ready, ready, ready.
01:14Let's take this off.
01:15Are you ready?
01:16Ready, ready, ready.
01:18Let's take this off.
01:19Let's take this off.
01:21Let's take this off.
01:22Let's take this off.
01:24Let's take this off.
01:25Thank you, thank you.
01:41Before surprising the kids that lived in the orphanage with their brand new home,
01:45we had to find someone that Mama Rosie held very dear to her heart.
01:48The last time we were here, Mama Rosie told us about a young boy named Yam Kayla
01:52who left the orphanage 14 years ago with the dream of becoming a musician.
01:56So Darren and Dan, a filmmaker and musician from Cape Town,
02:00tracked him down to be a part of the big reveal.
02:04They then took Yam Kayla to see his old bedroom that has been completely rebuilt.
02:14After months and months of grueling labor, it was finally time to surprise the kids.
02:19The kids are all lining up outside right now and we're about to bring them in
02:23and show them their brand new homes for the very first time.
02:26Thank you so much for bringing dignity to these children
02:47because it has boosted their self-esteem.
02:51They live in a better, better place.
02:54We wanted to find out more about Yam Kayla and his life outside the orphanage,
03:01as well as offer him the opportunity of a lifetime to inspire orphans all around the world.
03:06Oh, come.
03:07I want to show you something.
03:13I kept this, all this.
03:15Yes, remember the guitar you used to play on under that key across the road?
03:20Sometimes I even dream about this place.
03:30This is where my roots are.
03:32In order for Yam Kayla to make a living, he had to become a cleaner at the airport,
03:36leaving him hardly any time to practice his music and harness his talent.
03:40It kills me knowing that I'm doing something that I'm not into
03:44and there is something that I want to do that I really love, but I cannot do it.
03:52In Yam Kayla, I see this deep need to want to express himself through the art form of music,
03:59yet he doesn't really have any tools to be able to do so.
04:02So, we decided to surprise Yam Kayla with a top-of-the-range professional acoustic guitar.
04:10But the best part is, we're going to be enrolling Yam Kayla in one of the best music schools in South Africa
04:15and paying all his living expenses for the entire year.
04:18I don't know what to say.
04:22Thank you so much.
04:24All the music you've heard so far in this video has been made in collaboration with Yam Kayla.
04:30And while they continue to make music, I want to tell you guys about our incredible long-term partner,
04:35the sponsor of this video, Electric E-Bikes.
04:38This orphanage build ended up costing a lot more than we thought it was going to,
04:42and Electric E-Bikes stepped up to the plate by providing the additional funding to help us finish it.
04:46So, if you don't know what Electric E-Bikes are and what they do,
04:50they're on a mission to change people's lives by increasing the mobility while being energy efficient.
04:55One example of them doing this is our last video,
04:57where we gave away a thousand E-Bikes to people around the world,
05:00including Kenya, to help them more efficiently transport water.
05:03So, do me a favor and click the link in the description below
05:05and purchase an Electric E-Bike from them,
05:07because by doing that, you'll help them make money so they can continue to support these projects,
05:11and it's a beautiful cycle. I'd love to keep going.
05:13Thank you, Electric E-Bikes, for sponsoring the video. Let's get back to it.
05:15And we threw one final celebration for the orphanage
05:18by getting Yamkala to perform a few of his original songs.
05:32Yimbapumelele will continue doing what we are doing, saving lives.
05:37Thank you so much.
05:45It is now time for Yamkala to start his musical journey.
05:49We are so excited to see what he can do,
05:51and we will keep you constantly updated on his progress throughout the year.
05:56See you in a year.
05:57And I want to say a special thank you to Checker6060 for sending motorbikes in a literal truck
06:03full of food to the orphanage.
06:06Thank you so much.
06:06And I also want to shout out Yum Yum, Sambank, Rama, Jumor, and RCL Foods
06:11for also committing to feed the orphanage for an additional year.
06:14But despite everything we've done, Mama Rosie and the orphans still need more help.
06:18So if you're able, click the link in the description or the donate button below this video
06:21and just give whatever you can.
06:23And just by watching these videos, you are literally changing lives.
06:26So thank you.
06:26Subscribe.
