00:00The Department of Justice denied the court of appeal of Timor-Leste the extradition request against the former Negros Oriental representative Arnie Tevez.

00:10The DOJ was surprised by this, especially since the court approved the extradition twice, in June and December of 2024.

00:18The DOJ is asking for clarification from the court.

00:22The government is just studying all the legal remedies that can be done.

00:26Tevez is facing murder charges for the murder of the former Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and many others in 2023.

00:34Tevez previously denied that he was responsible for the murder of Degamo.

00:39Tevez's lawyer called the court's decision in Timor-Leste that the rule of law was a success.
