The TD and Writer's Room, brought to you by the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association,
00:04
the PHBA.
00:05
The breeding sheds opened on Saturday, and as we told you last week, there are 10 new
00:09
stallions who are now plying their trade in the state of Pennsylvania.
00:14
And one of those, we're going to introduce you to right now, by the name of Tyson.
00:19
Tyson won a couple of big stakes at Woodbine in 2023.
00:23
He was Canada's champion older horse.
00:25
He won the Seagram's Cup and the Dominion Day Stakes.
00:28
But he didn't just succeed and run well at Woodbine.
00:30
He was also third in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Saratoga.
00:34
He's the son of Tappet.
00:35
He hails from the female family of Grade 1 winners streaming, and he stands for $3,500
00:41
in the great state of PA at Stone Jug Ranch.
00:45
So you can breed to a Pennsylvania stallion, foal in Pennsylvania, and earn a 40% Breeders
00:50
Award paid to 1st through 3rd in every Pennsylvania race, along with the eligibility to run in
00:55
those PA-bred, or PA-sired, stallion series that we tell you about periodically.
01:02
And who is the poster child for those PA-bred awards?
01:06
Uptown Charlie Brown, PA's leading stallion.
01:10
His progeny have amassed $2 million in bonuses for their owners just over the last two years
01:17
alone.
01:18
That's $73,000 in average earnings per starter, all for a fee to breed to Uptown Charlie Brown
01:26
of just $3,000 at Mountain Springs Farm.
01:30
To earn more, you can call the PHBA.
01:33
There's your number, 610-444-1050.
01:34
I think I have that number memorized by now.
01:40
PA-bred, I think we've built a brand at this point.
01:46
There's excitement at every step.
01:50
Roses for Deborah just set a new track record.
01:53
On average, for the past decade, Pennsylvania paid over $28 million a year in Breeders Awards,
01:59
restricted races, and owner bonuses.
02:02
Plus, PA-breds shine on the world's biggest stage.
02:05
Just three states have bred more Breeders Cup winners.
