00:00There's nothing like a big update, especially before the Fasig-Chipton Saratoga sale.
00:06This year, Warrendale sales have two yearlings that fit the bill.
00:10Hip 57 is a charlatan colt who's a half-brother to leading first crop sire Complexity, and
00:15Hip 62 is a Nyquist filly who's a half-sister to grade one winner Vava.
00:21So this year we brought up eight to Saratoga.
00:23Kitty and I are both very excited about our group.
00:25We have some halves to grade one winners.
00:27We have Hip 62, which is a Nyquist filly, half to Vava, the one that won the Derby City,
00:31got her grade one in the Derby City earlier this year, then followed that up recently
00:35with the Chicago Stakes.
00:37So it's a very active family.
00:39I would say she does kind of look like Vava.
00:41We had the City of Light for them last year.
00:44Also a very similar type of horse as this filly.
00:47Very strong-hipped.
00:48And then we also have Hip 57, which is a charlatan colt bred and raised by Stone Street that
00:54is a half to Complexity.
00:56Also from the family of Balladorna, Complexity is doing great as a sire.
00:59They're offering the share up here earlier in the sale.
01:02He's not the only horse in the pedigree, you know, it's Complexity.
01:05It's also, you know, you've got some others there too.
01:07So it's important to people to see that.
01:11Updates always help.
01:12I mean, people like active families.
01:14They want to buy into young families, families that are active.
01:16If it's fillies, then, you know, there's hope that down the road you have some broodmare
01:20potential.
01:21You might, you know, get a half to something or, you know, the horse that you purchase
01:25at the sale is your graded stakes winner that you can eventually retire.
01:28And the colts up here, you know, there's a lot of stallion pedigrees and buyers, a lot
01:32of end users shop this sale for those types of horses to run Saturdays and get grade one
01:37wins and eventually put them in their stallion parks.
01:40They're just great physicals.
01:41I mean, they're big, they're stretchy horses, beautiful necks and shoulders, great walks.
01:47The filly is a little more compact, not quite as big and stretchy as the charlatan colt
01:52is.
01:53When Stone Street gave us the charlatan, they also gave us a street sense colt.
01:56Very similar horse, great big hip, great walk and shoulder.
02:00It's always nerve wracking to bring a horse up here because it's a long way home if you
02:03are an AM and don't get them sold.
02:05So we try to bring the right horse, right physical, some sire power, but very good physical
02:10is what we like to bring up here.
02:11And I think that this year's draft represents that across the board.
