00:00Last year, Didia came just under a length's shore of getting her first American grade
00:06one victory in the New York Stakes at Belmont Park.
00:10This year, it was a different story in the same race as she finally got that first grade
00:13one victory, this time at Saratoga.
00:16We stopped by and visited Didia at Keeneland as she prepares for her next start on the
00:20road to the Breeders' Cup in the grade one Diana.
00:25Every year she got, you know, Didia got a little bit better and hopefully she's going
00:30to pick, you know, by the end of the year again.
00:34Very happy with what she did and happy the way she came back.
00:39She broke sharp.
00:41I thought that we're going to be a little bit closer than I want, but, you know, Jose
00:46took care of that.
00:48He put her in the right place.
00:51When we hit the 5.16s, I mean, you can see that we have a ton of horse, but then when
00:58I saw the hole, I mean, she's going to do her thing.
01:01I don't know if I'm going to end up winning or not, but she's going to show up like she
01:05show up all the time.
01:06And she did it and she kicked like a rocket.
01:10Following her is Nisi Marie on the outside and then comes Mikulik, but it is Didia in
01:16a tremendous performance to win the New York Presented by Rivers Casino.
01:21I thought always that we have the horse for this race.
01:24Last year they proved me wrong, this year they proved me right, especially on the turf.
01:29That's why turf racing is very complicated.
01:33Sometimes you have the best horse of the race and you run fifth and you have nowhere to
01:36go.
01:37You have one problem, you're done.
01:39So a lot of luck is involved.
01:41In her case, it was teaching her how to use her speed and that's what she learned how
01:48to do it.
01:49She relaxed easier this year than she was relaxing last year.
01:55She does everything very easy.
01:57She wants candy and that's it.
01:58She's happy with that.
02:00Very easy to deal with.
02:02She sleeps, I mean, she does everything well.
02:04I mean, she's a good horse.
02:05Good horses are usually easier.
02:08Didia will go to the Diana.
02:11After that, we'll see.
02:13I mean, I'm going to need another race and then Rivers Cup.
02:18I feel blessed to have the chance to have those type of horses.
02:22I mean, it's like those type of horses are the ones that make you a good trainer because
02:29when you have one Blue Prize or one Didia or one Kazakh in your life, you're blessed.
02:34Probably the last four or five good horses that came from Argentina, I have three or
02:40four of them.
02:41So I have been really blessed with that and I'm very thankful for that.
