00:00Leslie Bibb stopped me and she's like,
00:01this dress is incredible.
00:03And I was like, I love you.
00:05You're incredible.
00:06Hi Harper's Bazaar, I'm Aiza Gonzalez.
00:08And today we're looking back at some of my favorite looks.
00:11This is Fashion Flashback.
00:14I love this look.
00:16This was the 2018 Oscars and I'm wearing Ralph Lauren.
00:19It felt like confident and sexy
00:22without being too in your face.
00:24And I was so nervous.
00:26We were nominated for Baby Driver,
00:28the first film I ever did.
00:30My vision for this day had been really truly inspired
00:34by Jennifer Lawrence's red dress at the Oscars.
00:37I always felt like there was something so strong
00:40about just choosing a bold color, a simple dress.
00:44I ended up choosing bright canary yellow.
00:47I don't know if you knew this, but I love to share this.
00:49So there's a whole tear of different stages
00:52of if you're a nominee, if you're in a nominated movie,
00:55you get different dresses.
00:57And I didn't know this.
00:58You sort of get like higher level dresses
01:00versus if you're not nominated
01:02or you're just walking the red carpet.
01:03And so it was the first time
01:04that I was part of a nomination
01:06and I got so many dresses.
01:08It was like a Disney for adults.
01:10And then immediately when I wore this dress,
01:12I just knew I tried on thousands of dresses
01:14and this was it.
01:15It was pretty spectacular.
01:17This next look, this is a Met Gala 2021
01:20and I'm in Versace.
01:22Ooh, I love this look.
01:25It was very sort of last minute
01:27and Donatella invited me to the Met Gala.
01:30They said, we have this beautiful red dress.
01:31We want to try it on you.
01:32The moment I zipped it on, it took my breath away.
01:36It had like a built in beautiful glove.
01:39The craftsmanship of this dress is pretty spectacular.
01:41The detailing, if you can see like in the stitching,
01:44there's beading, but it's meticulously chosen, woven into.
01:49I just wanted to honor Maria Felix
01:51as one of our like icons in Mexico.
01:53She's like a golden age diva.
01:56And I had just gotten attached to develop
02:00and create this movie about her life in the biopic.
02:02And so I wanted to do an odd to old Hollywood,
02:05old golden era cinema in Mexico.
02:08And so I went for this sort of very Maria Felix makeup
02:11and to compliment the look and it was pretty spectacular.
02:16Ooh, this is the London premiere for Ambulance
02:20and I'm in Burberry.
02:21I love that color.
02:22That's one of my favorite colors.
02:23As you can see, blue is my color.
02:25And I got really fixated on the fact
02:28that I wanted bleach blonde hair for this look.
02:30Jessica Alba in The Fantastic Four
02:33kind of came up to my mind
02:35because she wore a lot of blue.
02:37And so I was like very inspired by that.
02:39And so I went through 10 hours of bleaching
02:44the night before.
02:44I had just landed.
02:46I think we were in Berlin for the premiere.
02:48I went straight at like 10 p.m. to the hair salon.
02:52I didn't sleep all night.
02:54I finished at like six in the morning,
02:55bleached my entire hair.
02:57And as I go to the premiere,
03:00I decided to spray like perfume on me
03:03and I sprayed it on my hair.
03:05And as I went from the hotel to the premiere,
03:08my hair oxidized because it was so porous
03:11and it was open that it went orange.
03:13It went orange on the red carpet
03:17and I had a panic attack.
03:20But it was all forgotten because the dress.
03:23Also, Michael Bay didn't recognize me.
03:24Took him 10 minutes.
03:26And he was like in the elevator with me.
03:28And I was like, Michael?
03:30He's like, oh, damn it, it's you, Asa.
03:32I was like, I've been standing here
03:34for five minutes straight.
03:36Anyway, yeah, men.
03:38God, this is good.
03:40This is the premiere for Three Body Problem in London
03:43and I'm in Chanel.
03:44This is my personal favorite look ever, I think.
03:48I'm a huge Chanel fan.
03:50I love what they do.
03:51I think they're so chic.
03:53It's just the epitome of cool girl.
03:55It was this oversized, flowy, beautiful,
03:59very Karl Lagerfeld Chanel dress.
04:01I just saw it and it was this flowy dress.
04:04I remember taking all these photos of me
04:06dancing around with the dress.
04:07And I cut all my hair off for the Fountain of Youth
04:11and it was my first reveal of this new look.
04:14And so it was pretty special
04:16and I've worked on this show for so long
04:18so I wanted something that felt spacey
04:20but also kind of sci-fi-y.
04:23I really love taking on, when I'm in a film,
04:26like method dressing.
04:27I think it's really, really fun.
04:29This felt very sci-fi, futuristic,
04:32while being Chanel, baby.
04:35This next look, this is Jason Wu
04:38and I'm at the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
04:41premiere here in New York City.
04:42I was in London doing half of the press for the ministry
04:46and Elizabeth, my stylist again, she was like,
04:49I have it, I know what the dress is.
04:51I always like trying things on
04:52because I just want to get a sense of who I want to be
04:55in these premieres and what I want to become.
04:58And she was like, I think this is a dress,
04:59you've got to trust me on that.
05:00And she sent me this photo of the dress
05:02and was like laying and it was crackly
05:03and I couldn't really envision it.
05:05And she said, it's insane.
05:07You're going to put it on and it's the dress.
05:08She flew it all the way to London.
05:10Here comes the dress running in.
05:12I ran out of an interview to try it on.
05:14And it was just like the moment that it zipped on,
05:16I was like, it took my breath away.
05:20It was just elegant, chic, effortless.
05:25I felt like it was a perfect combination
05:27of like contemporary simultaneously
05:29while being a pinup dress, but it wasn't revealing.
05:32It was sexy in the best way possible.
05:35And we kept it super clean.
05:36And I mean, we found the perfect pump that matched the dress.
05:39So this is a special one.
05:42This next look I love.
05:43This is a 2024 Emmys and I'm wearing Tamara Ralph.
05:46This is a very special one too.
05:47This is my first time being in a nominated anything
05:51at the Emmys.
05:52We were nominated for three body problem
05:54and we had a ton of dresses in this rack.
05:56I just saw this sparkly pink
05:58and I saw like feathers hiding in the back.
06:01And I was like, what is that?
06:02And she's like, it wasn't even like one of our first choices
06:04and she said, it's a Tamara Ralph dress.
06:08You can see that I love a column dress.
06:09I like to accentuate that I'm tall
06:12and I kind of like to use that in my advantage.
06:15And we tried it without the coat first
06:17but then I tried the coat and I was like, this is too much
06:21but maybe too much is right for this.
06:23I was feeling very excited and happy to be in the Emmys
06:25and I felt like the dress reflected that.
06:27This is one of the few premieres
06:28that everybody stopped me for the dress.
06:31Everyone was like, wow, the dress, wow, the dress.
06:34Like Leslie Bibb stopped me and she's like,
06:36this dress is incredible.
06:38And I was like, I love you.
06:40You're incredible.
06:41So yeah, it was pretty spectacular.
06:45This is a 2025 Golden Globes and I am wearing Gucci.
06:49This dress was just the one.
06:52I tried a bunch of dresses.
06:54We were nominated for La Machina
06:56and it was my first time going to the Golden Globes.
06:58Maybe a little on the nose.
06:59If there's anywhere you should wear a gold dress
07:01is to the Golden Globes.
07:02And then I saw these David Yurman earrings.
07:05It looked like algae, like made out of diamonds
07:08and sort of ended in a black sort of subtle way
07:11and it blended perfectly into the waves of the hair.
07:14It was just spectacular.
07:15It was simple, it was chic.
07:17Again, back with a column dress.
07:18By the way, it was a very sunny day in LA.
07:21And so there was no sort of covering of the red carpet
07:25and the sun was hitting me and I was a disco ball.
07:27I was like reflecting into everyone.
07:30And I remember like blinding Guy Pearce.
07:32He was like, whoa.
07:33And I was like, hi.
07:34He's like, oh my God, is that you?
07:36He's like, he couldn't see me.
07:37And it was incredible.
07:38I really felt like a fun little cheeky in it.
07:41This next look.
07:43This is the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party
07:47and I'm wearing Oscar de la Renta.
07:50One thing about the Vanity Fair red carpet
07:52is that it's always set up so far away from photographers
07:55that whatever kind of dress you have,
07:57you can have a long train, a short train.
07:59It is a perfect stage for a dress.
08:02And so the moment that I sort of went like that
08:04and it had the fading of the red,
08:06I knew that I could kind of really play with that
08:08on the red carpet.
08:09And I've always seen those red carpet photos
08:11where like I see the woman tossing the dress
08:12and I was like, I want to do that.
08:14It was complimented with these like art deco
08:17German earrings that were so beautiful
08:19and they like kind of clipped onto my ear
08:20and wrapped into my ear.
08:22And it just felt like subtle and fresh and girly
08:24and sunshine and just the perfect sort of fun,
08:27flirty dress for Vanity Fair.
08:29It was scary to not let people step on my dress.
08:32It was, you're always sort of thinking of the designers
08:34because they put so much work into it
08:36and you don't want anyone.
08:37So I'm running around with my dress.
08:38I'm like hugging it like this.
08:39I wrapped it around like a shawl.
08:41I multi-used my dress.
08:43So that was a fun night.
08:44Thank you so much for watching.
08:46These are some of my favorite looks.
08:48I hope you enjoyed it.
08:49And I want to invite you all to go watch
08:51Ash support independent filmmaking.
08:53Bye.
