00:00The Castlebridge consignment is a perennial leading seller at Tattersalls and Goffs, but

00:07after a five year absence, they've returned this year to Arcana.

00:10We talked to Andrew Meade about their nine horse consignment.

00:15We've been missing from Dover, both from the December sale and the August sale, for roughly

00:20six years now.

00:22We've tended to focus on the Tattersalls sales and the Goffs sales in Ireland, and those

00:28have been going very well for us, we're very happy with that, but we reached a point where

00:32we just thought it was time to come back to Dover in December.

00:35The sale's been steadily improving, and we had enough nice horses this year to go to

00:41both Goffs, Tattersalls, and Arcana, and that's why we've come back here this year.

00:46We've come here this year with nine lovely horses, they're all selling on Saturday, which

00:52is obviously the select day.

00:54There's something for everybody in the sense there's pregnant mares, there's fillies to

00:58go to stud, and there's fillies that can race on, and I think they're all very high quality.

01:04We've got a few nice pregnant mares here, Boyne River, info to Night of Thunder, who's

01:09obviously an incredibly successful young stallion, and this is one of those few opportunities

01:15you can buy a lovely mare info to that stallion.

01:19Of the fillies in training, we've got two from Germany that are very attractive, a filly

01:24called Libra, who's a lovely black type filly, we like her a lot.

01:29There's a filly called Goldana, she won a stakes race on her last start, and we also

01:34have a lovely filly from Italy who's a wild card, Romagna Mia, and she won a grade two

01:41on her last start in Italy, looks to have plenty of racing still in her, and she'll

01:46make a lovely broodmare as well.

01:49Of the fillies that are being sold out of training, ready to go to stud, we've got a

01:54lovely Kingman filly, that's Vouchsafe, Loch Lundy is a stakes race Chammerdale filly,

02:02and Chammerdale's already a highly, highly regarded broodmare site, and we also have

02:07a very nice Night of Thunder filly in Thunder Beauty, who's also a very exciting broodmare

02:13prospect.

02:15We've arrived here in Deauville straight from a very strong sale in Newmarket, I think

02:22anybody in the horse industry following the sale results would say it was a remarkable

02:28sale.

02:29We found the market was equally strong across the board, whatever part of the sale you were

02:35selling in, and prior to that, we'd equally come straight from a very strong goth sale,

02:41where we had a lot of foals, and they sold extremely well, and some very nice mares sold

02:45in goths.

02:46So I think all sale companies at the moment are riding something of a crest of the wave,

02:52and let's hope Arcana equally finishes the season the same style.

02:57We've been very lucky over the years, and we seem to keep rolling along in terms of

03:02having good sales at Castlebridge, and myself and Bill Dwan, my partner and Marion Goodbody,

03:09we owe all our success to the people who work for us, because without them, it just

03:13wouldn't happen.
