Why Comfort Foods Are So Important When It’s Cold Outside

Try this twist on traditional chili.

00:00I love turkey chili because it is easy and hearty, delicious, and healthy, but the best

00:16part is when I stuff it inside sweet potatoes, pop it under the broiler with some cheese.

00:22That is a home run every time.

00:24And all I have to do is pour my ground turkey and a bunch of vegetables into a slow cooker

00:30and basically all the work is done for me.

00:33Turkey on its own is pretty bland and it's low in fat, so you need a lot of flavor to

00:37give it that extra kick that you want in chili.

00:40So I'm using some garlic powder, ancho chili pepper adds a lot of depth and smokiness,

00:48and some cumin.

00:50There is one secret ingredient I think adds a huge punch, even though it's very subtle,

00:56and that is ground coffee, like espresso, it's really finely ground.

01:01One tablespoon, it goes a long way and it adds a ton of flavor.

01:06I'm going to cook it and when it's done I'm going to stuff it in those sweet potatoes.
