UP spoils Nitura's 38-point explosion as Maroons outlast Lady Falcons

Adamson Lady Falcons' Shaina Nitura established a new UAAP women's volleyball scoring record of 38 points but the UP Fighting Maroons weathered the storm and claimed a 25-15, 15-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-10 Season 87 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 16, 2025.

Irah Jaboneata led UP's counter as she smashed 19 points including crucial hits in the fifth set as the Maroons ended a four-game skid to rise to 3-4, fifth in the standings.

Nitura, whose previous scoring best was 33 in her seniors debut last month, went 35 out 0f 88 attacks as she also logged 15 receptions and eight digs for Adamson which suffered its fourth straight loss.

The Lady Falcons fell to 2-5 for a share of sixth place with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
