00:00Meanwhile, the government promised to lay a traffic management plan

00:04to reduce the effect of rehabilitation in EDSA on travelers.

00:09Remember, yesterday, the DOTR announced that it will start in April

00:14to plan a few more plans for this.

00:17This is Bernard Ferrer in Centro ng Balita.

00:22It is expected that the public will see the complete plan of rehabilitation of EDSA

00:26to prepare motorists and commuters.

00:29This will be done after April when the rehabilitation of EDSA will start instead of this March.

00:34According to Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon,

00:37plans are being continuously planned for the project.

00:41As part of the preparations, visas will be issued

00:44for motorists and commuters who regularly pass through EDSA.

00:47The plan is needed because this rehab will last for almost a year, right?

00:52For ASEAN next year.

00:55That's why the plan is the same.

00:58It will be hard for us to go back and forth because our countrymen will be hungry.

01:03The DOTR, along with the Department of Public Works and Highways,

01:07Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and other agencies of the government

01:11are working on the rehabilitation.

01:14They are preparing a possible increase in traffic when the project starts.

01:18What we can do is to manage the traffic well

01:22especially the rerouting and advisory.

01:25DPWH has already announced that they will use reinforced concrete

01:29to make the road sturdier against heavy traffic.

01:33There will also be an asphalt overlay with anti-rotting and anti-cracking features

01:38to make the road more durable.

01:40Aside from this, the drainage system will be improved using high-density polyethylene pipes

01:45to avoid flooding and to speed up the road construction.
