00:08In 2024, the EU exported goods worth 213.3 billion euros to China and imported 517.8

00:17billion euros. This resulted in a trade deficit of 304.5 billion euros.

00:24China was the EU's largest trade partner for imports and the third largest partner

00:29for exports. Compared with 2023, both imports and exports decreased by 0.5% and 4.5% respectively.

00:39Between 2014 and 2024, imports from China increased by 101.9% while exports grew by 47%.

00:49Among EU countries, the three largest importers from China were the Netherlands, Germany and

00:55Italy, while the largest exporters to China were Germany, France and the Netherlands.

01:01Only Ireland and Luxembourg had trade surpluses with China. The other 25 EU countries had trade

01:08deficits with China, with the largest deficit being held by the Netherlands.

01:13The most important products from China were electrical machinery, appliances and electrical

01:18parts, telecommunications and audio equipment, offices machines and data processing machines.

01:24These three categories accounted for nearly 40% of all imports from China.
