00:00The Supreme Court does not issue a temporary restraining order regarding the arrest of
00:06former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:08SC spokesperson Camille Sue May Ting says in a statement, quote,
00:12After a virtual deliberation on the 94-page petition, the SC found that the petitioners
00:17failed to establish a clear and unmistakable right for the immediate issuance of a TRO.
00:22However, the SC still orders Senator Ronald de la Rosa and the Philippine government to
00:27comment on the petition within 10 days.
00:29The petition was filed by de la Rosa on Tuesday right after the arrest of Duterte.
00:34De la Rosa filed the petition for certiorari and prohibition to question Duterte's arrest
00:39under an ICC warrant.
00:41His camp also asked for the TRO or a writ of preliminary, prohibitory, and mandatory
00:45injunction that could have blocked the arrest.
00:48Meantime, the Commission on Elections says Duterte is still part of the Davao City mayoral
00:52race even though he was flown to the ICC in the Netherlands on Tuesday, March 11.
00:57While Melech chairman George Garcia clarifies, there must be a final judgment of conviction
01:02for Duterte to be removed from the race.
