00:00Youngest participant ever at Strade Bianche and your first pro race in Europe. How do you feel about all that?
00:07I feel super excited. It's a pleasure to be here and it almost feels like an honor just to be participating in this race.
00:16There are more and more gravel sector in this race. Do you feel it's road racing or mountain biking today?
00:23I would say it's still road racing but I really like the twist of the gravel sections. I feel comfortable having a bit of the technique from the mountain bike and cyclocross.
00:33More gravel sector and more kilometers than when you won the race. Is it better you think?
00:40The race is becoming harder and harder in each edition. By the end of the race people are really exhausted.
00:48Many guys supporting their leaders are not finishing the race which is a pity.
00:56Hopefully this race will have a balance of allowing everyone to experience the beauty of Siena and Tuscany.
01:07We have to stop somewhere and make this race harder. There are a lot of guys who want to experience Siena and I think the race is already hard enough.
01:18Is it important for you to have won this race before?
01:22I love this race. I'm motivated for this race and I love it. It was amazing to win and I want to try and win again.
01:37What do you have to say to the people who think Pogacar has won even before he starts?
01:43The fans that think that, what do you want? Are you wishing for a boring race or what? And for the riders, they've already lost.
01:56Do you like to repeat what you have done before, like one year ago, or do you prefer to invent something different?
02:01Let's see how the race goes. Forget about last year, today is a new day. We'll see.
02:10Talking about last year, the feeling of coming to Piazza del Campo with your bike in the air, is that one of the best in your memory?
02:18I think yes, it's one of the best. The atmosphere there is incredible. It would be nice to repeat it, but we'll see.
02:32Let's hope for a good race first and then we'll see how it's going to be in the finish.
02:39Are you afraid of something, afraid of someone?
02:41Yeah, for sure. It's a bike race and it's Strade Bianche, so there are a lot of situations that can happen and you need to always be careful.
02:50A lot of riders here are super good and you can have a lot of bad luck as well in the gravel sector, so you need to be ready for everything.
