00:04in Butuan because of the illegal sale of chainsaws online.

00:19It was rude for the operatives of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group Region 13

00:24to raise their partner's hat to arrest these two men

00:29because of the illegal sale of chainsaws online in Butuan.

00:32After receiving the payment for the two pieces of chainsaw,

00:36the operatives immediately surrounded the suspects.

00:39According to the PNP ACG spokesperson,

00:42Police Lieutenant Walen May Arancilio,

00:44they immediately started the entrapment operation against Alias Alan and Alias Robin

00:49after discovering their online mode.

00:52Because of the cyber patrolling,

00:55the two men discovered their post on Facebook Marketplace.

00:59They are playing a game of selling chainsaws for P3,000 to P7,500.

01:04Arancilio said that it is illegal for the suspects to sell online

01:08because they don't have the permit to sell the chainsaw

01:11that is required under RA 9175.

01:15According to the investigation,

01:17the suspect said that they just need money and they don't have a job.

01:23Also, the operatives are checking where they get these chainsaws.

01:31Our operatives are also checking,

01:34the team leader that we talked to,

01:37if this is authorized or if they also have a permit.

01:42Arancilio also said that they are strictly monitoring

01:45those who sell chainsaws online in the region

01:49because of the illegal logging.

01:51For them, in Region 13,

01:54there are a lot of lumberjacks and a lot of chainsaw users.

01:59And this is usually used to cut wood in their area.

02:04And they thought that this is a good business to sell

02:08since they can earn a lot of money

02:11if they sell chainsaws.

02:14Until 2025, PNP-ACG has reached three operations

02:19PNP-ACG and RA 9175.

02:22Four were arrested since January.

02:25PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group is reminding our countrymen

02:29who sell chainsaws that we need to get a permit from the DANR

02:35or from our LGU if we have an ordinance that we need to follow,

02:39we should follow it so we won't be punished by the law.

02:43Also, to our countrymen who want to buy and use chainsaws,

02:48it's better to buy from legit authorized sellers.

02:54The last suspects are defending

02:57that they don't know that they need a permit to sell chainsaws.

03:07to look at being proactive and reactive action against cybercrime
