00:19While the country of Malaysia continues to strengthen its role as a global leader in the halal industry,
00:25they continue to maintain a deeper relationship with their partners in the Philippines
00:32in order to promote halal trade, investment, and certification.
00:36Under Malaysia's Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 and the Philippine Halal Industry Development Strategic Plan 2023 to 2028,
00:46the Embassy of Malaysia in the Philippines will continue to provide halal business opportunities to the Philippines and Malaysia.
00:54Because of this, the Embassy of Malaysia organized a roundtable on the halal industry
00:59together with Matrade Manila and in collaboration with DTI Halal Task Force Team.
01:05We hope to this meeting today, the various stakeholders can sort of identify what are the gaps that is existing still
01:12in the process of Philippines to develop a very strong halal ecosystem.
01:17And moving forward, we hope that Malaysia can play also a role in supporting as we always have in working together
01:24in developing this very important and very, I would say, a strong industry.
01:29In the held roundtable session, key stakeholders were gathered, including the halal industry leaders,
01:36halal MSMEs, and certifiers.
01:40Here, they discussed the best way to conduct trials and opportunities for the development of the halal industry in both countries.
01:49The Philippines is a very special country. We have been here for many years.
01:52And me, myself, I want to thank the Filipino people for the kindness and generosity.
01:57We hope that from this roundtable, we can then use what we've learned to propel forward the halal industry
02:06in the Philippines, of course, in ASEAN and towards the region as well.
02:10The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen the integrated halal ecosystem
02:15and discuss the strategic areas for collaboration that can benefit the Philippines and Malaysia.
02:22Let's collaborate, let's empower each other, and let's work harder to develop this industry to an industry which can sustain growth
02:29and at the same time, bring about development to our people and our country, and of course, our communities.
